New clubhouse to feature Two-Michelin-Star dining experience

When Costa Navarino’s new earth-sheltered clubhouse on the renowned Bay Course opens this summer, its eco credentials won’t be the only thing turning heads – for, located within the clubhouse, will be the Funky Gourmet Pop-Up restaurant.

Costa Navarino’s exciting partnership with the Athenian Funky Gourmet restaurant – based on a shared ethos of a common gastronomic vision and quality values – will be the first occasion in which a two-Michelin star restaurant has operated in the country outside of the capital, Athens.

Overlooking the historic bay of Navarino, with its spectacular sunset vistas, the multi-award-winning chefs, Georgianna Hiliadaki and Nikos Roussos, will showcase a two-hour gastronomic journey, offering a degustation menu of avant-garde Messinian-Greek cuisine.

The culinary experts behind the highly esteemed restaurant saw this partnership with Costa Navarino as an opportunity to study the Messinian food culture. Local ingredients and traditions will be brought to life, combining the high-quality raw materials of the region with avant-garde cooking techniques and a unique presentation, to transform guests’ dinner into an unconventional culinary experience.

The unique menu will come alive with colours, aromas and flavours, composing a delicious canvas that will appeal to all senses, and elevate Messinian gastronomy to new sensory heights.

The Funky Gourmet chefs said: “We couldn’t help but grab the opportunity to create a menu based on products sourced in the rich Messinian land. We consider the Messinian diet to be a gastronomic landmark of the Greek culinary heritage.”

Overlooking the Ionian Sea and surrounded by olive groves, Navarino Dunes at Costa Navarino is home to 21 venues that offer a wide gastronomy offering, including traditional and modern Greek, Mediterranean and ethnic cuisine among others. With an emphasis on fresh local produce, the restaurants utilise freshly cultivated vegetables and herbs from the gardens at Navarino Dunes, alongside the destination’s extra virgin olive-oil from its centuries-old olive groves.

One of the world’s most sustainable destinations, Costa Navarino is renowned for its pristine coastal location, breathtaking landscape, cultural heritage, luxury hospitality, real estate, and two signature golf courses.

Costa Navarino is the prime, sustainable destination in the Mediterranean, located in the Greek region of Messinia in the south-west Peloponnese. One of the most unspoiled and breathtaking seaside Mediterranean landscapes, this area has been shaped by 4,500 years of history.

Its philosophy is driven by a genuine desire to promote Messinia, while protecting and preserving its natural beauty and heritage. It will comprise a number of distinct sites featuring five-star deluxe hotels, luxury private residences, conference facilities, spa and thalassotherapy centres, signature golf courses, as well as a wide range of unique year-round activities for adults and children.

Navarino Dunes, the first area, is home to two luxury five-star hotels, The Romanos, a Luxury Collection Resort, and The Westin Resort Costa Navarino; Navarino Residences, a collection of luxury villas for private ownership; and The Residences at The Westin Resort Costa Navarino – fully furnished resort apartments for sale; the signature golf course The Dunes Course; Anazoe Spa, a 4,000m2 spa and thalassotherapy centre; the state-of-the-art conference centre House of Events; specially designed facilities for children; and a variety of gastronomy venues, sports, outdoor and cultural activities. Navarino Bay, the second area, is home to the signature golf course, The Bay Course.
