The natives tell the story that its owner fell in love with the estate upon seeing it and didn’t take even a single day to make all of the arrangements to travel from Japan to Andalusia to build “one of Europe’s best clubs”.
Its two courses, Old Course and New Course, were designed by some of the best international designers, like Dave Thomas and Severiano Ballesteros. Excellence is the fundamental basis of these two designs, in which the autochthonous vegetation delimits each of the paths of these 36 holes. One of the key factors of both designs is that their greens are strategically protected by bunkers and cork oaks that will make you think before you execute your strokes. Since its opening, The San Roque Club has often been a regular destination of the European Tour. The facilities at The San Roque Club are designed for continuous improvement of its members and visitors who come to this resort in Cadiz regularly. Its short game practise area is one of the most highly appreciated by the many players on the European Tour, which for years has held different tournaments of this circuit here.

And, you shouldn’t be surprised if when you enter the magnificent clubhouse of The San Roque Club you see thousands of souvenirs and stories of the 1997 Ryder Cup. Why? The San Roque Club was the venue from which Severiano Ballesteros and his entire team carefully prepared the attack for gaining victory at this mythical edition. In fact, the hotel’s lounges and rooms are named after the different members of the European team that won this edition of the Ryder Cup. Live history hanging on the club’s walls…
